@Rhodrich the bicycle helmet test is basically a 12mph impact on the crown of the head/helmet with a large blunt object. Either the helmet stays still and they drop a metal thing towards it or they have a metal block and drop the helmet towards it. Similar to the motorbike test here but just the 1 drop and the helmet doesn't need to retain shape/function/anything so long as it doesn't register more than a set amount of Gs impact. The 2nd drop, penetration test, roll off test and all the other tests are just for motorbikes. They do test the strap clips somehow too but it's just so the helmet won't unclip and fall off under "cycling conditions" so all the tests to motorbike straps should be ignored too. Here is some youtube on helmet tests at bell, dig about and you can find some bicycle helmet test videos but it's a million miles apart imo.
With bicycle helmets after £30-50 you get into helmets that are more expensive as they offer a sporting edge so a few grams lighter, a little more aero and so on.
