there's some battered ones on ebay atm
(but the left one's not working apparently - would be fine for 1x10...)

• #66004
I've got a pair of rival levers if you need. Left has the shifting mechanism broken...

I wish I knew! :)
When I've got my track gear and wheels on my back I take Old Ford Road around Viccy park as the gates are usually closed when I'm going there and then onto Cadogan Terrace before taking the footbridge over East Cross. It lands you on the edge of Hackney Wick at Rothbury Road and then it's a simple chortle over White Post Lane to the Olympic Park.
Not easy, but nothing is :)

If you turn right rather than left at the mini roundabout which takes you onto cadogan terrace, then do a sharp left after the tunnel, it cuts out the footbridge, which I always find a bit fiddly. I've also just noticed on the map that there's a bridge at the end of old ford road, so I'm going to see what that's like tonight.
I also prefer going north through hackney wick onto eastway, then using the cycle paths and a currently-closed-with-no-name road that runs between the velopark road track and the A12 to enter the velopark site from the north west.
Quite convoluted to explain but very quick, quiet and traffic-free. -

I'm going to try this - I've also asked the ebay seller.
I assumed I could just pick one up from Syntace but can't find it for toffee on their website.
-
• #66008
Yeah, but I find that means you end up going along the canal path, which isn't great when I'm on my crabon track bike with my racing wheels strapped to my back.
i could be wrong though. :)
When I'm commuting to and from home (which also takes me past the velodrome) I go along Cassland Road and Eastway which is fine, but they drive like cunts down there...

Someone recently posted a link to an article about an exhibition of 3 Merckx bikes that had won things, like KoM one, sprinters one etc along with the jerseys of the person who won it. I can't find it again, does anyone know what is it?

Can you let me know how you find Old Ford foot bridge? Looks ok in streetview ..
I dont have much time to play with after work and before the race starts on Thursday.
@roboto I dont think there are any canal paths involved with the 2nd option .. I could be wrong. I want to avoid them like ebola.
-

2nd one does avoid canal paths. Still a steepish shared footbridge (only really a concern for me on brkls track biek). Either of them are good options.
Old Ford footbridge is just straight on at the end of Old Ford Road. The traffic will be either turning right or left, because it's a bit of a dead end for cars, so just keep going towards the bright lights...

No canal path (which I also avoid at all costs):

Is the route I currently take but I'll be trying out @amey 's second route tonight. -
• #66013
Well it ^ is pretty straight forward but yeah a steep pedestrian bridge with annoying barriers. Will stick to my usual route probably.

Planning a tour of pas de Calais and Flanders (glamorous!) Can punters visit the velodrome at Roubaix on any day of the year? Not looking to ride a lap or go in the showers (what is the attraction there?)

Aluminium stem with carbon bars - assume that this is ok?
-
• #66023
-
• #66024
Too early to say really, I've only had carbon MTB bars in an aluminium stem for just over a decade.
-
• #66025
Ok then, thanks, can you report back in another 10 years please?
Or a Giant dealer, their OD2 stems come with a shim, presumably they end up with some spares in their parts bins after doing fitting adjustments for new bike buyers.
