Was planning on going to inters tomorrow and start getting track fit again after 3 months off but having looked at the probable heavy rain tomorrow at exactly 10am-12pm my will is already fading...

Isn't inters still on winter time, 11-1 ? Going to have a look in I think.
-
• #3604
Yeah, but I have to leave the house at 10 to get there from Angel and sort out my bike in time to start at 11. It says the rain will stop after 12 so in theory dry second half/ride home but who knows.
I'll still set my alarm to wake up and see what they sky's doing/consult Met Office but if it starts tipping it down I think I'll turbo instead. As someone said upthread track in the rain with the wheel in front spraying water directly into your face ain't fun.

Wanted to try out my trispok' at training today but I'm guessing thats a bad idea with all this wind right?

Not raining in SE yet at 0945

I woke up, couldn't hear any rain and felt hopeful. Then I looked outside and the trees in the park next to my house were going mental and shit was being blown around the yard by the gale force wind. I think I'll save my return to the track for another week...#lame

Scoot, in NO WAY lame with these winds. It was a little bit blowy on Wednesday AM and it really did hurt your pace/cadence.
-
• #3610
Yeah, I just want my re-exposure to the track to be as gentle as possible to avoid my body shutting down in shock!
-
• #3611
Ugh, looked at the trees bending and bailed. Just got drowned popping to the shop, too!
-
• #3612
Me and my mate bailing too, just chucked it down for a bit here in sw
-
• #3613
Turned out ok in the end, if a bit blow-y. 8 across stacked sprints were interesting tho - definitely good for the bike handling skillz.

Today's Intermediate and Track Skills sessions are both cancelled due to ice on the track.

I've signed up for Race accreditation. I'm sure I've done most drills by now, but I don't think I know what some of them are called. May I ask for a bit of help to match up what I've done with what it's called?
Race accreditation drills consist of:
lumps and bumps (is that following a wheel up and down the track)?
Slalom (fine w this - Cheers @Dumps)
Stacking (fine with this)
Centre pairs changes (how is this different from pair changes on the blue?)
1/4 lap changes (self-explanatory? or is this some kind of rotation?)
Riding in contact (holding hands?)Thanks for yous help. Looking forward to racing on Wednesday nights so a bit nervous about the accreditation.

If slalom is the same as at Lee Valley, it's just a long single-file line, 2-3 bike length gaps, and the rearmost rider sprints to slalom through the gaps.

Haven't been down for ages. Should be down on the 7th for sure. Hope all is well with the family!

Just wait until he rebels. :)
Congratulations!

Glad to hear it. I was down yesterday and suspected your absence meant you were busy with fatherly duties. Congrats!

Summer schedule starts this Saturday...
Training accreditation passed. Very windy! Was worried they were going to call it a night when the banners blew off the fence and the tent blew over!
