"Doesn't intend to sell" -> posts in classifieds...
Why don't you let us know how much you paid?
-

'Dibs' means he is asking for the first option to buy it.
If the the frame were in my size and for sale separately I would have 'Dibsed' it last night.

As I’m not about to sell it I can tell you I paid a bit more than 200 GBP. I think that was a bargain. I only wanted to know how big a bargain it was, that's why I asked. ;-)
If anyone is interested: I’m at this moment negotiating a similar one in size 54 (’93 but with “just” a Athena on it) so let me know how high I can go and I’ll buy it for one of you. ;-)

Hi
Definitely interested and can make a decision straight away but should point out that as I live in Cumbria a courier will be necessary and you probably don't need the hassle.
If this hasn't been ruled out then an appraisal of condition would be good and could you confirm if the size is from centre crank to top of seat post? Thanks -

To make life a bit more easy to me: if I buy the 54-cm bike myself, I will put it here. If I don't, I will place sellers-info here.
Please don't send any more PM's, I'm drowning a bit. ;-)

The guy isn't answering any more so here's the ad (in Dutch) for the size 54 one:

I once sold a colnago in equivalent grade tubing with a 105 group for £450, I reckon this is worth similar or more.

if you don't want to sell it don't put it in classifieds .this is what we call a fishing expedition , £200 is a great deal but what are you wanting us to say if your not selling ? its a cracking bike ........

Sorry, I must have missed that rule. I'm rather new on LFGSS.
As I said: I bought this bike actually not really knowing how exeptional (or not) it was. Carrera never was very popular in Belgium (in the past only Merckx and Colnago were) so I wanted to know if anyone here knew more about it (and it's possible value).

yup lovely bike cracking frame great team of stephen roche in the 80s and pantani in the 90s . far nicer than any run of the mill merckx or colnago in my mind . i have a pink merckx corsa i would sell for this bike ......

Haha, a pink Merckx. I started racing in 1992 and the first bike I bought (2nd handed) was a pink Merckx Corsa. Man, I hated that bike but couldn't afford anything better at the moment. Only positive note was that it fitted my pink/fuschia Scott Windriver mountainbike. :-)

Your pink is not as pink as mine. ;-) My bike was like this one:
I bumped into this bike today and I was wondering what it could be worth? Not that I'm about to sell it because it appeared to be better than first thought.
Columbus EL tubing
complete Campa Record 8 speed groupset (including Aero seatpost)
ITM Eclipse stem
What you guys (and girls) think?
