If it's just EU (assuming you have an EU passport) it is fine.

Example FCO guidance for Germany:-
https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/germany/entry-requirements
"For stays of up to three months your passport should be valid for the proposed duration of your stay; you do not need any additional period of validity on your passport beyond this."
The other EU countries I checked all say the same thing.
Had the same concern with MiniGB as her passport expired 3 weeks after the end of a (French) ski-trip. In the end I renewed it (it took less than a week without even paying for the express service).

Cool, thanks! I have an EU passport and I could get a new one quite quickly (just need to go to the embassy, which isn't far from my work... but I don't have the time right now). Good to know I can leave this until March :)

I have no emotional attachment to the Wound-Ups, they were the only disc fork available when I bought the bike in 2009. I'd like to be able to run mudguards on it now, so I think the easiest thing to do is buy new forks and sell the Wound-Ups. The Kinesis forks look fine, was just curious if there was anything else I should consider.
I'm not sure I'd trust QR mounted eyelets either. Not sure why, a gut instinct thing.

the barbican centre is always full of people using the free internet and usually has a few quiet corners

@bmx_fred Thanks that's very helpful. That page mentions using an Apple device to access The Cloud wifi software. Do you know if I can use their internet with a Windows PC?
EDIT: Read some more and it looks fine. All good.

Try the Libertine on Great Suffolk Street, should still be quiet at that time... Great little pub...

Thanks but it's non-tapered.

It's to replace a Wound Up fork, which is 395 axle to crown I think.
You wouldn't need the pannier mounting points of course, and try to imagine the fork with a coat of paint.
Just buy whichever forks you wanted, get the eyelets added - or get the eyelets added to the Wound Up's.

KMC chains are not Shimano or Campag specific - so why are the links?
-
• #65992
I you're using KMC chain, the Missing Link isn't specific, it's only if you're using KMC reusable Missing Links to join Campag 10-speed chain that you need the 10C version.

Are sram s500 levers just rival with the shifting bits removed?
Basically wondering if I can install shifting bits into my s500 levers because it seems pretty hard to find silver rival levers at a decent price.
-
• #65995
Not sure how easy that would be, but it should be pretty easy to swap the lever blades out of S500 brake levers in to any of the original shape DoubleTaps, i.e. Red up to MY2011 and Force/Rival/Apex to MY2012

What are the options for a carbon fork with mudguard mounts and clearance for 28c tyres plus guards?
-
• #65998
Find someone that makes 1 1/4 stems and ask them? Or would a handlebar shim do it?

• #65999
try fsa?

At a pinch, you could open out a 1"-1⅛" shim. The gap will be a bit bigger than ideal, but it will get you home.
Nah; you'll be fine.
I traveled to Norway and Switzerland with less than a month on my passport last year and there wasn't any issue.
Having said that, the passport office are pretty quick at turning around new passports. I did the "express" service at ~£80 and had a new one delivered within a week.
