• I have these, which have damaged threads.

    Questions:

    1. Is it worth fixing the threads, given that new ones are £15.99 + p+p and I value my labour as a mechanic at a luxurious £10ph.

    2. If yes, what's the best way to make them screw-innable? It's for a beater build, but I don't want to risk damaging the BB shell because eventually the frame might form the centrepiece of a Nice Bike one day. I was going to try and grind them into some kind of order with a fine Dremel disc...

    PS. I didn't cause any of that damage.

  • run a small triangle file gently in the grooves of the threads to remove the burrs.

  • ten minutes with a small knife file

  • Nice one - I used to have a set of them for Warhammer don't you dare fucking laugh.
