  • That should be a safe assumption.

I checked my old size (L), and I always felt it was a little larger than I desired... but it matches precisely with the measurements on the Milltag sizing chart I posted, and the Medium would definitely be snug for me.

So yes... the older Milltag jersey I have correlates precisely with the sizing chart in the first post.

  • So can anyone help me read between the lines on the relative merits of the two versions? Is the Pro one really much better?

  • OK... the big difference between the club and pro jerseys is this:

The pro jersey is made from a greater number of panels of fabric.

Which allows Milltag to ensure the fit is better, and more importantly allows them to change the fabric used in certain places.

In the pro jersey the under-side of a sleeve is a different fabric to help wicking and be more comfortable, and so on for all of the jersey.

Those differences also lead to the subtle design differences: Note the pro jersey design only has the sleeve end colour around the lower half of the sleeve, and that it's thinner. The design is hinting at the fact that the jersey itself is made from more cuts of fabric.

That's the essence of it: club jersey = 1 fabric and fewer cuts, pro jersey = many types of fabric and a greater number of cuts.

The argued benefits are things like aero (I doubt it) and comfort (extra wicking underarm? sounds good).

The club jersey is a damn good default, but the pro jersey is definitely of higher quality construction and material.

  • Just a thought and probably too late to change, but maybe it would be more appropriate for the LFGSS logo on the front of the shirt to be light blue rather than black.

I've put my order in anyway...

  • Too late to change.

    Or

I think it looks great as-is.

    Possibly a little of both.

  • hmmm... I went medium pro cut.

  • So long as you order according to your chest size, you should be good.

  • I'm almost XS in chest measurement and M in torso length

(not really intended as a boast post)

That's probably what I'd go for (Pro M) but $$$

  • Just noticed the banner thing will talk to gf and see if funds allow.

  • Anyone know what the equivalent of a Champ Systems small club fit/medium race fit is in Milltag? Their sizing guides measure differently, so I can't compare them, but I'm getting the vibe that Milltag stuff comes up a bit small.

  • Thanks for clarifying @Velocio.

  • two questions:

the lfgss shop - do we use our normal login credentials or do we need to create an account? not used the shop before

ridername - will mine be in lower case like username on here

    thanks

  • The shop is the shop... it's run by shopify, create a new account as that is a different secure system altogether.

The ridername, whatever is the capitalisation that you enter in the form is what will be printed.

  • thanks boss

  • purchased

  • Can't decide whether I really need this ...

  • I certainly do need extra wicking under arms ewwww so I guess I'm going for the top notch one.

  • Ah what the hell. I need cheering up. Done it.

  • An eBay auction of mine is at £54 with 3 hours to go.

Fingers crossed it'll get bumped up to the pro jersey price... any extra armpit wicking welcome...

  • I'll give you 50p. My advice is that your £54 would be better spent on maintaining our bike and riding it.

  • I do that anyway. Maybe you should get a different forum to troll.

  • What colour will the name be printed in?

  • Would anyone post a pic wearing either of the jerseys??

  • They don't exist yet. This is a pre-order. 1st ever batch.

  • Oh I see. Sorry.
