  • ha cool, like it regardless

  • Really like this one

  • Selling my Fuji-kit here if anyone's interested: http://www.lfgss.com/conversations/261628/

  • Bargains.

How you getting along with the 6D?

  • Here are a few I took at The Sky Garden up the Walkie Talkie on Saturday.

  • Good enough to not go back :)

It's bigger though, I miss the nimbleness from the x-e1, but I really enjoy full frame and quicker AF.

  • Living up to your name there @hypercolour :)

  • Walkie talkie pics are great - do you have to pay to go up there?

  • Thanks!
No, the ticket was free but you have to book in advance. Food and drinks are quite expensive though.

  • Sweet. Going to have to check it out.

  • Sweet. Doha? That place is crazy.

  • V excited should get my Olympus OM-D EM1 tomorrow. Prepare for lots of beagle and baby test shots....

  • Got a question that somebody may be able to help me with. Im touring Europe for a couple of weeks this coming summer. Any recommendations on markets that sells old gear?

  • i won't post it for sale in the for sale threads here as it goes against the forum rules but here is a link to my ebay sale for a fuji 56mm f1.2 lens

  • Something about the rolling shutter effect on the runners legs in this makes me happy.

  • markets that sells old gear?

you mean strictly cycling gear, or what?

  • Wondering if anyone could offer some advice.

I'm looking to buy a camera to take on trips, to upgrade from my canon compact. After something smaller than a dslr, that could fit easily in handlebar bag, jacket pocket, ideally in a jersey pocket, but still have a decent size sensor and a be pretty tough.

My current thinking is an Olympus E-m5 with a pancake lens. Really like the fact that it's weatherproof, micro 4/3 and have heard lots of good things.

Is there anything else that ticks these boxes that I should be looking at?

    Thanks!

  • E-M5 is a good call with the 20mm f/1.7.
Thats probably your best option if ruggedness is an important factor - something like a Sony Rx100, canon G7X or Ricoh GR would get you improvements in some areas at the cost of fragility.

  • Old SLR cameras & camera gear :)

  • Ha, sorry for being a bit thick.
    : ]

Well if you're touring through Germany I can only tell you that Berlin sucks for used gear - a lot of dusty rubbish, and good stuff is way too expensive.
Munich on the other hand is the best city I know for old SLRs and other gear, there are a lot of shops that sell that kind of stuff in good nick for ok prices.

  • Ricoh GR can be put in a protective pouch and in a jersey pocket easy peasy.

  • Agree, although the risk is that the lens may get fogged up due to sweat.

  • Also Ricohs are notorious for random death, although the GR has a pretty clean record. And the name always makes me think of this guy:
