The wheels from Appollo were dinged and well out of true, but overall in excellent condition so I'm quite chuffed, a bonus set of tubes and £60 freewheel (which I'll keep on the shelf for later usage on local trails in the summer).
42 spoke count BLB hubs on Chukka rims means I can use the 38c Continental Winter Contacts 2 I already have. It's great having 42 spoke count, truing and getting even tension is a doddle. When I leant on them to relieve stress, I had to bounce on them, hopefully a good indicator of bombproof-ness. And the quality of the BLB hubs was a nice surprise as well.
I've gone for a pair of used magnesium canti's that were on Facebook, I hope I don't regret not going for TRP's mini v's. We get a lot of shitty wet snow and mud up here in rainy damp Rossendale, which did clog up some shimano mini v's I've had before.
