Nice one! Thanks DC!

I am SO EXCITED about crazy golf, kind of want to go to bed now and sleep through to make tomorrow get here quicker..
-
• #129
Think I might head over for this rather than srs business bike ride. Dr Cake can pour scorn on how my cross bike has turned back in to a commuter hack.

So I finally looked up where the golf is and I am getting a bit nervous about how far a ride it is to do fixed (my knees are not what they used to be!) both ways...
I'm guesstimating
1 hour : Hyde Park - Ealing
45 min : Ealing - GolfDoes that sound about right?

If you don't want to ride to Ealing from Hyde park, you should be able to get a train from paddington station to Ealing Broadway and meet us there. The route is pretty flat fwiw.

I'm driving from Nunhead if you want a lift?
-
• #135
I would say no more than 35 mins from Ealing to Golf and I'm slow - and did have to stop and walk back at one point as I nearly ended up on the A40...(you can see it on the track)
https://www.strava.com/activities/219427443 (this route is slightly short as I forgot to turn on the garmin.)But yeh as DC says, you could either get the paddington line, or overground it to the bush ride to white city and take your bike on the central to ealing.
..or get a lift :-) -

My route is mostly quiet roads as well, so no pressure to go fast there either, in fact I did the recce right after a 5km run yesterday, so I was not at all speedy.

Thanks guys, I think I'll be fine at least one way. I'll bring some nurofen and might get the train home. I'll just see how I go.
-
• #138
If anyone wants my bit of today's route, here it is. I've just added on a nighttime friendly route back from south ealing to paddington as well for those who want to ride back (the one on the way out has some parks and canal towpath, which I don't tend to do at night).

Time to let the bailing begin! Emergency wedding panic has set in so I'm out I'm afraid :(

Oh Poots. Imaginary boyfriend was looking forward to meeting you.

I seem to have jinxed myself for today. I can barely move and my nose is streaming and my chest hurts. Maybe I shouldn't have oiled the work surface yesterday. I'm sadly out today.

Am running late so will get to Hyde Park for 11.15am. Have texted Dr Cake.

No traffic so got here in record time, at Hyde Park now and it's lovely out if a bit chilly.

Thanks ladies, that was so much fun, even though it was freaking cold!
Summer edition needed - Moby Dick Crazy Golf - your turn @Cazakstan ! -
• #145
Hey ladies thanks for a great day today! DC & C routes were lovely. And my knees are still feeling okay! We will see how they are tomorrow ha ha Ha
Steph - you just rode right past me on Grange Road (I was on pavement) so it turns out taking the train or riding back would've taken me the exact same amount of time!
Hope to see you all soon!

Another happy golfer here despite the freezing cold! Especially as I somehow managed to come top of my group. Jammy or what?
Looking forward to the Essex edition.

Here's the one for the brownies (I just used chopped walnuts, no cherries, because I didn't have any).
Thanks again for organising a top day out.

Okay, so I've done the route check now, and an hour is about right. See all of you meeting me at Hyde park tomorrow at 11 am.
