  • My new commute involves 8 miles of towpath which is unlit for most of the way. My once a week USB recharge has become every day due to the heavy use of main beam which isn't really up to the job (moon xpower 300) so I'm going dyno hub.

I'm presuming SON28 is the option of choice and the B&M Secula plus with seat stay mount given I have no rack and a blade style mudguard.

What is the best option up front?
    Edelux 2
    Cyo
    Luxos

I'm pretty sure I will not want to charge stuff on the move.

    Criteria are:
Better illumination than my current 300 lumen light.
Non dazzling oncoming riders (it's a towpath, there's water nearby)
    Aesthetically pleasing to look at.

What's the consensus on best solution? Should I be considering two lights or does the power drop mean two is not better than one?

  • Budget - Cyo
    Ulimate - Edelux II.

Both those light are very bright and don't dazzle thus allowing you to point the beam much higher to see further.

  • I'm considering getting a 2nd Cyo for my other bike. Would you say that the Edelux is worth the extra spend, as it's quite a bit extra?
