We need a toaster too.
Basically, everything Hippy said. Help us toast.
-
• #3
We've a DeLongi 4-slice thing which is pretty good. Although apparently its all about using a frying pan these days...
-
• #4
DeLongi eh? Cheers.
Frying pan bullshit also out. Hipster cooking threads are over yonder -->
-
• #5
Google seems to show De Longi don't pass my "brushed metal only, no fancy bullshit" test unfortunately.

Dualit 4-slice or >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hippy
Dualit 4 slice toaster. Really simple to use, and nice even toasting.
I got one for Annie for Christmas and it has been great.

The only time my frying pan sees bread is when I've done a shit load of bacon and sausage. It cleans the pan, tastes ace! What could possibly go wrong?
Clutches chest, turns blue.

+1 for Dualit. Expensive but worth it. Last toaster you will ever buy. Unless you shake it too hard or run it under the tap.

yep, Dualit. We have had one since about 1990, still makes perfect toast.
-
• #12
Dualit are over priced hipster shite, have a 3 slice one a proper one when they were made in London. Very expensive now for what it is tho you can replace the elements.
How about a rolling toaster
-
• #13
Just get one of these and eat some bloody toast!
-
• #14
Just stick it under the grill, 4 slices anyway you like.
-
• #15
Bollocks to Dualit. I have one of the fancy see through ones (Magimix) and they are ace. Get one. Their kettles are good too, unlike, again, Dualit ones which are shite.

Another vote for Dualit.
Six years of daily toast and counting.
-
• #17
Dualit toaster - the Dura Ace of the toaster world. Accept no substitutes. My parents have had the same one for 15 years.
-
• #18
And they're from Camberwell, like R. Whites lemonade and Basement Jaxx.
-
• #19
Dualit - nice but a bit pricey. Ignore the naysayers. We've had one since '92. Have replaced a couple of elements in that time but still running perfectly. My vote is for the 2+Toastie version.

another for dualit, had my three slice vario for nine odd years, still going strong...
if you'd posted this during the new year sales, you'd probably have got one for a song... now you'll just have to wait for the next round of sales, easter probably.
But like le creuset you'll only ever get the evil looking colours on discount... -

WERE now in sussex.

Do they pop up? If not >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
-
• #23
I know I'm heavy but how much farkin' toast do you think we eat?!
-
• #24
I am not the sort of person who watches toast.. or anything for that matter. Too easily distracted = burning = anger = killing = fail.

Powdercoat thread... ;)
I thought I posted this already but maybe I dreamed it. The missus shook our toaster to death - what should we replace it with?
I wanted one of those see-through ones because I'm a geek but they're expensive and a bit shit so now I'm thinking a standard 4-slice jobbie for fry-ups to do both lots of toast at once. Any durable models? Don't want those Italian things that don't pop up automatically, they're shit.
