Indeed, best solution is to use lightweight inner tube instead, like the Schwalbe XXLight.
...then pinch it on roadside installation.
Latex for the nice bike, patched butyl for the hack or just latex all the things if you're flush/lazy.
Really? To make a butyl tube lighter, presumably it's thinner: ie less puncture resistant.
