Just ordered (what I believe to be the last) pair of Mavic Zxellium Ultimates off of Chain Reaction. Of course I went for the full disco-slipper yellow.. Reduced from £330 down to £140 - absolutely could not resist
Am mega fucking excited!

In winter shit-heap guise, been training with the uni team on this and it's made me fall in love with steel. Eats up the miles, and is buttery smooth - even after being battered off the beaten track!

Picked this up today, 54t goodness. First piece in the puzzle that will become my new groupset

Gotta love a muddy, well used & abused machine. Congrats on a decent build, with down to earth components! Chapeau!

Thanks dude
Updates/new purchases/bling for this are unfortunately few and far between as I'm a jobless student. That said, I am happy to work with what I have and I'm not afraid of giving frames/componentry a jolly good thrashing

Gorgeous first Cannondale but I think you've one-upped yourself with the Cougar. Brilliant paint work and looks oh so nice all together... Got me thinking about what I am going to build next for summa months.

Unfortunately not.
Most work was on my cleats as it turns out I basically had no inward float at all - which was one of the causes of the shattering knee pain I had before Christmas.
He also raised the saddle a fair bit and opted for 3 degrees of forward slope, as I told him I wasn't a sportive rider and would be in the saddle for 3/4hrs max at a time. As such, he's set it up for crits and sprinting. Will be adopting a -17 stem once I've been to a few more bikram yoga sessions and improved my core flexibility
Thinking about doing my first Cat 4 at some point this year

Get on BC/RiderHQ and sign up ASAP they are VERY popular esp the ones around London. Cycling is the new golf etc.

Not in a dying rush. Want to just get some good base miles in and keep training for now.
Very new to it all, only ridden in a handful of chaingangs and they've all been with the uni team which has literally just been thrown together in the last couple of months.
May go out with Brighton Mitre and see how things go down with those guys.

Brighton Mitre are a good club, I ride with Brighton Excelsior when I'm not at uni and we do a lot of stuff with them.

I promise not to update this thread every time I buy a single part, but am so stoked with new cranks. DA7700 and they're NOS! I don't know exactly how hard they are to come by in unused (and unfitted) condition, but I'm guessing they can't be that easy to find being 15/20 years old. They even have the QC stickers still on the insides of the crank arms...
Also got a (very) light Ti inner ring, 39t.
What do people advise regarding the group? I'm torn between keeping it period correct and fitting full DA7700 9 speed, or pairing this monster chainset with Ultegra 6800 11 speed. Leaning more towards 9 speed atm

Nice looker almost bought a Cougar some years ago

6800 would be rad.
Yeah the stickers won't be staying, will wait until I've got new tyres though to enhance the change
Vittoria Corsa SC clinchers - wise choice for gumwalls?
