My dad mentions these every single time he's near a bike. Apparently had them on his Freddie Grubb "with campag grand sport gears and Weinmann centre pull brakes"

They're really useful and actually does work, however they do have a rather short lifespan.

It's useless once you go for bigger tyres and lower pressure.
