A reminder that this Saturday, after a couple of years' break (due to trouble finding a suitable venue), we are reviving our annual Burns Night fund-raising supper and dance, this time at the City Academy, a superbly equipped new venue bang in the middle of the borough.
For 15 years and more, our Burns Night bash has provided a splendid opportunity for London Cycling Campaign members, supporters and friends to meet each other, have a good time and let off a bit of steam in the dark days of winter.
We'll once again be offering the timeless format: a sit-down dinner of haggis, neeps, tatties and whisky, accompanied by all ceremony due to the immortal memory of Robert Burns, after which Hackney-based ceilidh band The Muckers will strike up and everyone will be invited to take
their place on the dance floor for two hours and more of enthusiastic, energetic and more or less accurate country dancing.
I'm glad to say that as of today we have sold over 100 tickets, and, if booking patterns follow those of previous years, the rest will sell out within the next few days.
So, if you are thinking of coming, and you haven't booked yet, it's now
or never!
Tickets selling well
