Rapha baselayer, ninja style merino buff over my cap, glove liners... Lovely...
Glad the cap's working out for you, never really fit me properly...

You need merino longjohns and socks.

This... Merino boxers for the sin (typo better than my own choice of words)

I just fuck a sheep during my commute.

• #4583
What is this secret route you speak of?
-

Never tried merino glove liners. Are they better than silk liners? Picked up silk liners on eBay for less than £5 and they work well.

listen to you pantywaists, it's like a shampoo commercial in here!
bin liners or gtfo.

Gave Ally Pally a miss this morning - guessed it'd be a few degrees colder up there! Took the Turnpike Lane option and enjoyed a smooth ride in. One upside of wearing lots of ear-coverings is the almost silence on the quiet stretches.

Twas certainly chilly. Full on winter gloves + merino liners was only just enough.
Beautiful morning though and a stress free ride, only marred by a misbehaving left knee. 8/10

I gotta go to the hospital again. Should I take the balloonbike or the road bike? Icy or no?
-

Merino glove liners and ultra-winter Gore gloves were no match for this morning... Chilblains a-go-go... Two pairs of socks (under my Redwing boots) and my feet still haven't warmed up... I got into work over an hour ago... Still better than the tube, 8/10...
@mashton: It wouldn't be secret if I told you, would it?

Spesh full finger gloves with cotton inner gloves over the top, toasty.
Slow commute though, really need to sort out the drivetrain on my commuting bike.
6/10

No ice from SE to W1 this morning. But a ballon bike sounds like all kinds of fun.

Lovely morning, but I unexpectedly encountered a rink-like sheet of ice in Forest Hill (burst water main) and came straight off, wrenching the knee en route. I then fell over again as Quoc Phams aren't the best shoes for standing on ice.
On the other hand, cycling was actually less painful than walking after all that so I can probably allow it 5 out of 10

Some dudes STILL commuting in tiny football shorts. WTF.
-
• #4596
Oh mate :/ glad you're OK.

The very edge of London, at the opposite side from you.
Is that what they call rural Essex now?
-
• #4598
Cheers.
For anyone in that area the relevant bit is at the junction of Stanstead / Beadnell Rd, watch out for ice this evening.

Was riding home in the dark on a short section of the Green Way last night. Slowed down to pass some peds and saw a leaf blowing across the path. When it was right by me, the leaf turned into a mouse and jumped through my front wheel as a kept rolling along slowly.

I took the Kinesis, stuck to main roads and it was fine. Thanks for the heads up though.
