  • SiSL2 is outrageously expensive.

RRP - certainly. eBay is your friend tho. I picked up a new, unused pair with spiderring and ceramic BB + axle + crank bolts for... £300. Which is still stupid for cranks, but they look nice. Except the spiderring, which does not.

Drop me a line if you want to try S-Works.

  • Would it be worth it trying to track down some good condition SiSL cranks (not the "2")?
Cheers on the S-works, I'll let you know, but postage might be a killer! (currently in straya)

  • Yeah - there isn't a huge amount of difference between the SISL and SISL 2. They just machine a bit more of the crank arm away. You can fit the spiderring to the original SI crank which goes for around £170 in good nick - if you can find one. All the parts are interchangeable IIRC - they are all iterations of this, from 1992.

(although the axle on the Magic was 24mm)
