  • Not long enough.. unless I ride the 150k there.. but that wouldn't be a BRM. Stupid PBP ruining all the rides :)

  • Yeah, it's quite tempting to me as well. Cheeky day off work and a nice 300k in the legs :)

  • Good work!

Remember that fixed 200km Audaxes are a slippery slope...

  • Ooh. Tell me more about those gloves. Mine are old and knackered but used to be fine. They may also be a size too big or have just stretched because my fingertips don't reach the end. The most annoying thing though is if my hands get sweaty the lining comes out when I remove them and it takes ages to fit it back in. Oh and well done with the Willy Warmer!

  • I should probably UTFS and find the winter gloves thread.

  • Thanks for that. Just trawled my way through 69 pages now have a bigger list to choose from. I'll stick with HTFU numb fingers for now till I can filter that list down. Hopefully before the next audax on the 1st of Feb.

  • Thanks. Enjoyed it, I think.
These are the fellas. Expensive but worth it.
    Absolutely awesome.

  • I have signed up for Wye Wednesday, wont be too early a start as i can get the train from Blackheath.

  • How lumpy is it out there on that route? I've only ridden a sportive and a 12hr in Kent and they were quite contrasting.

  • Wye Wednesday looks a bit long for me. But I'm kind of tempted.

Does anyone know, is it really that flat? This is London's famous Kent, after all.

  • @KT_Bee Did you register for that Worthing 100? I'm going with at least 2 more people.

  • I quite fancy that Wye Wednesday as well. I've put the gpx file on my gpsies account. A couple of climbs early on in the first 25km then fairly easy. Have a look.

I'll probably edit the file a bit more before it goes on my Garmin. Add in the controls, climbs, descents etc. Hmm. Geared or fixed???

  • I should do Wye Weds as I could use it as a PBP qualifier, but don't know whether to use a day's holiday up.

  • 'Using a holiday up'

You're doing it wrong. Enjoying a day away from work!

  • :-) I definitely would enjoy a day away from work, it is just that they are a scarce and limited resource

  • It's a pro day i.e. 'getting paid to cycle'

  • 3792 feet according to biketoaster so well short of hilly

  • If it's windy on Romney Marsh you'll be gagging for the hills.

    Definitely fixed.

  • Signed up to AUK and my first audax, 200km from stockport to newport and back. Thinking about doing it fixed as its flat. Excited!

  • I come from a very flat and windy place... SMASHFEST!

  • If I can do this one fixed then it'll save the bother of moving my lights again to the geared bike. Ideally I'd like a 2nd set of dynamo lights for the other bike but need to wait for funds to build up again.

  • That was a very rewarding 3.5AAA AWE today. My first perm.

  • Netherfield.
