Has anyone here ridden a wheel until the braking surface was so worn it failed? I'd like to know what happens exactly. Pressure from the tyre bead blow the braking surface apart? Is it a sudden and catastrophic failure?
There's a fair number of people who already had that happen, but I can tell you that it's a lots more common than you think.
edit - can't find the topic/thread, most recent I remember is a guy with worn out Open Pro that blew up in Oxford Street going slowly.
