If you just want a cheap silver MTB hub, why not Shimano? 525s are under £20 if you want 6-bolt, or there are various iterations of XT centrelock still in the shops for under £40 and you get a steel freehub with any of them.

I ingested a small amount of white lithium grease that cross-contaminated some peanuts I was eating whilst working on the bike.
Shall I put my affairs in order? -

You are unlikely to be depressed during your remaining time on earth.

Apparently its fine... It was literally just a smudge but some of these chemicals are nasty. Brake fluid nasty.

I consume a lot of these things and I'm one of the most normal people ever. I'm always very careful to avoid DOT fluid getting anywhere near me.

For those who have been on the Lee Valley velodrome hire bikes: what saddle is it? A Fizik something - found it really comfortable but forgot to check.

Do we have a recommendation for disc braked 11 speed compatible wheels for commuting on?
I upgraded my groupset from 10 speed to 11 today and discovered somewhat late in the process that 10 speed freehubs are not as wide as 11 speed ones... oopsie.
At 10 speed I used Deore XT hubs and Mavic Open Pros and got on OK with them, though that does of course mean I had a brake surface I didn't need. I guess I could do the same again, but there might be better. Looking for the same sort of price I guess.
Please and Thank You

I'd be inclined to laziness and get WH-RX31, since Shimano factory wheels have always been good to me.

Fizik Ardea?

Laziness is appealing. I could probably get them in a hurry too. Ho hum

I think the reasoning is that I'm a bit of a Hope fanboy and wanted 'nice' (read vanity/boutique/poncy) parts for this (which does go against the idea of keeping it as cheap as possible thing). So my first thought was Hope must do a singlespeed hub and I'll be able to get one second hand easy as pie. Then when I saw they didn't really have a single speed, just the trials, I looked to other manufacturers for a singlespeed solution. When I didn't really find anything there that suited, I ended up considering Hope geard hubs with spacers. But that was more getting back onto Hope, than accepting that a regular geared hub would be the solution. 6-bolt Shimano would be the sensible move though. But then again, if that's the way my mind worked, all my bikes would have Kalloy posts and Novatec hubs.

If you're going for Shimano for laziness, may as well get centrelock hubs. One lockring with easy tool engagement is much easier than 6 fiddly bolts.

Cheers, pretty sure that is the one.
