  • You'll be allright down to 28c - possibly 25c too.

  • Ah, OK. I don't want to go lower than 28c I reckon, so gravel kings might be the way forward.

  • Clement Xplor Mso 32mm 120tpi

  • I've seen them as the go-to tyres. Good then? I'm struggling to find 120tpi 32c, I only the 60tpi.

  • Probikekit have the 32c 120 tpi for £45 and there's 12% off voucher code here:
    VBOX12NEW

New accounts only, but I just added some full stops to my gmail.

  • You could just get a pair of Landcruisers for a tenner each. They're the go-to tyre for tight northerners racing the three peaks.

  • Thanks. I actually have some 'cross' tyre already, I'm trying to find something that will meet my needs of feeling nice on pavement but allowing off road adventures down Yorkshire's fine bridleways. The trouble with lots of the 'commuter' tyres seems to be that they weigh a metric tonne. I'm not looking for a weenie build, but I do want to keep the bike feeling relatively sprightly (or as sprightly as possible with big tyres).

Gravel kings or the Clements seem to fit the bill, but Clements are $$$$$.

    Still, #treatyourself, right?

  • Does anyone have a some Vittoria Open Pave CG 25c mounted on standard width rims?

Please could you let me know the actual tyre width to check clearance on my frame. Thanks.

  • Assuming you mean 24c, which measure exactly 25mm wide on my 20mm rims, and 21mm high from the top of the rim.

  • Think they are 25c this year as they have ditched the 24c. But thanks for the measurement.

  • Tubs were 24c. Clinchers/Tubulars are now both avail in 25c/27c. :-)

  • I guess the question is did they revise the mold for 25c from 24 or just rebadge it to a more accurate size?

Above dims are not that far off a 23c GP4000s as they seem to come up big

  • Not sure but 25c Pave's<<<<<<<< GP4000s>>>>>>

  • You know it!

  • They are replacing Vittoria corsa evo cx clinchers that wont stand up to winter riding. I have clearance issues on the chainstay so want to be sure.

  • Well, for what it's worth, mine have done 1700 miles (don't Strava my commute either so it's probably 2k+) and they're still going strong. Have had them in regular use since May and they've not missed a beat. I've had one puncture and that was purely because I rode over a sharp piece of metal. So so good. Grip as well as the day I got them and they're just lovely to ride.

    God, I'm gushing over rubber...

  • Anyone know of any offers on conti hard shells?

  • Do you still need the measurement? I could throw one a standard rim if you need it. Although I have no vernier calipers so Id have to measure some other way.

  • ^ Thanks for the offer but I mounted a tyre in the end to check the measurement. On standard (non wide) rims they measure 24mm with a fresh tyre (despite being 25c). Strangely the open corsa cx they have replaced measured 23.5mm so not much in it unless the tyre will swell through use / bedding in.

  • Should I ditch the Four Seasons and go Schwalbe One and tubeless?

  • One tyre is a fast rolling summer tyre ... Very fast rolling , I have not tryed the tubeless yet
4 seasons are my go to winter tyre from October to March but I ride on some pretty shitty lanes

  • Yeah I had found that they are heavy.

  • genuine question, what's wrong with the Four Seasons?

  • The Schwalbe are sealant healing whatever shit you ride through so I would have had two less punctures last year was my question to be specific?

The other one was a slice job that would have done any tyre.
