  • No, because rolling resistance is not the same as lateral grip. A tyre with a stiff carcass but a soft tread compound will produce lots of grip, but have a high rolling resistance due to the energy required to deform the tyre carcass when the wheel rolls.

    Speaking of lateral stiffness, don't use radial tyres. That's not mentioned, either.
