The Thomson X4 stem hadn't arrived from ebay 3 weeks after dispatch so I nicked my track champion's stem to get things going. I'm using narrow hussefelt risers I bought on here, I found short enough grips for them. I liked the way the circle on the Oreba stem matched up with the arrows on the risers:
Locked out of my house last night, staring at the flower pots I saw a small package stuffed between them. My stem! The postman probably put them there and forgot to deliver a note.
I threw on some flat pedals and straps and took it for a spin this morning.
Rides really well and feels solid. I was surprised at how comfortable it is.
To do/decisions:
Decide on a stem or keep the Thomson
Cut more of the steerer, slam it, get rid of the random silver spacers
Get mtb pedals
Decide on stripping the saddle or keeping it as it is (pretty worn)
Weigh it properly, see if I make my modest below 7.5kg guess
