• So, who's up for a spin on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday? Maybe just up and down Marriott's Way, maybe Thetford, maybe Sheringham?

  • Depends what time of day!

  • Ditto!

  • I've got to be in at Archant at 3pm Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday, so also time dependent!

    Sorry to hear that.

  • Aha, bad experiences at Prospect House Sparky?

  • Ha.

  • Sorry to hear that.

    Ditto.

  • ^ That loop looks quite interesting. Any good?

  • It's not bad. Iceni do it as a training run. There are a few bits of trail that are fun but it's a bit depressing seeing how littered they all are. People are pigs. Apparently some of it is getting swallowed up by a new housing estate soon. Give it a try though.

  • That's a shame.

I used to like riding around Mousehold Heath, but there's usually so much dogshit around urban trails :-(

  • Bumping this. Anyone in Norwich still riding? Started building up another bike and interested if anyone knows some good places to ride? Ringland Hills used to be our usual haunt but I gather it's been demolished..

  • There's plenty of people, but they're not "on here". Ask around in the shops.

  • Is there anywhere to ride in the city other than Mousehold and Marriots Way? I'm hoping to start a new project in the next few months and debating whether I'll get the use out of it. I'm more than happy to explore the aforementioned and also travel to Thetford etc, just wanted to know if there was anywhere else closer to home.

  • Would be up for a bit of off-road stuff, my colleagues Cannondale SL4 is in my garage and available for me to use!!

  • If it's still there in April we can have a trip down Marriots Way

  • Some friends and I went up Thetford forest a couple of weeks ago and it was good fun. Did the 10 mile 'Lime Burner' route which was pretty flat/boring/exhausting (single speed/slammed seat) until the last section which was some fast downhill and was a bit more up my street. Would recommend a

Mousehold is alright, most of the trails have fallen into disrepair and there's a lot of dog walkers & families about. Spoke to a few guys there not long ago and they said some of the Mousehold crusaders had been 'booby trapping' the trails with logs to deal with the mountain bikers..

Other than that there's Bacton Woods which I've not been to before but I think they have a purpose built bike track so no stray dogs to worry about!

  • I'm more for a casual ride with a few fast sections so Thetford sounds good, haven't been to Bacton Woods, I'll have to check it out. I went to mousehold recently on the Genesis, 25c was quite hairy/fun! I didn't really follow a path or trail and the Zaks side was surprisingly dead for a sunday afternoon

  • @Rikki I've not been the Zaks side of Mousehold before, will have to go have a mosey..

I spend a fair bit of time up Sloughbottom bmx track although it's not quite the same haha

  • There's no trail that side, not where I was anyway, it was quite nice to find a way through it as I went

  • some of the Mousehold crusaders had been 'booby trapping' the trails with logs to deal with the mountain bikers.

    That's a bit shit :-(

I haven't ridden there for about 10 years. I remember it being a great laugh, with a lot of nice little trails for such a small area!

  • The woods round the back of UEA have some stuff, nothing particularly challenging but good for an XC whip about
