Yes they could be a force for good in constituency politics but not on the national scale.

An alternative to the right-of-centre thinking that dominates current politics and policy.

I think pretty much the opposite with local vs national... As in an MP from any party can be good (or bad) on a local level and work for their constituents but nationally things need to be done differently.
