I think the point is worth remembering that we came up with ideas like freedom of speech to set some ground rules after several centuries of killing each other because we thought other people believed in god the wrong way.

Say what you want (without lying)
Nobody has the right to tell you what to think or say
If we respect those ground rules, then we might not all like each other but we won't go back to killing each other in droves.
