    Whether a minority of any particular grouping of sky wizard worshippers are evil fuckers or not is irrelevant. Even if every follower of a particular deity was in fact a perfectly awesome duder, I don't see why I should confer dignity and respect upon a belief system which I consider inherently risible.

    If someone claims the Earth is flat, I will mock them and point out they are wrong. If someone claims the moon landings were faked, I will mock them vigorously. The same goes for astrology, homeopathy and clairvoyance. I fail to see why religion should be any different.

    Perhaps the difference is this - I agree that people deserve dignity and respect. I just don't think their beliefs necessarily do.
