Couldn't you use a shim like this:

shimit. :) Guys even shim the 34.9mm campy clamps to fit 28.6mm seat tubes :D
-
• #4
dude, did i not say to shim it like weeks ago?!
-
• #5
All right, thanks guys I am considering a shim but specific shims in that size seem to either be only from America or nearly twice the price of the mech itself (to extent that I have searched anyway). This was only a tentative request.

Just use a shim mate. Fucking hell

Have you considered using a shim?
-
• #11
have you considered buying a new frame with a fatter seat tube?

Burn!^

Was thinking about getting a car tbh.

Mate you'll never get a 31.8 mech to fit on a car.
-
• #15
What if I shim it?
-
• #16
I know this is pushing the boat out a little, but perhaps there is a chance you might want to use a small piece of metal tubing that would enable you to place the mech on a smaller diameter seat tube. I'm sure it has a proper name....sh...sh...shank...?

Then sir, a wealth of golden experiences will be yours as you cruise the lanes shifting freely.

Is there any way I can circumvent the use of mechs completely and just run a single gear ratio? Maybe someone on this forum could help?

Sram cx1 innit
Hastily bought the wrong clamp size, so looking to swap same 7700 with a 28.6 clamp if at all possible?
Hopefully you need a 31.8...
Many thanks,
C.
