  • That's impressive!

In other news, I enjoyed my bus-free commute today. I wonder if it would be possible to include all cabs if the bus people strike again? I know I'm selfish.

  • I wish every single driver of every single vehicle would go on strike at the same time. That'd be pretty good.

  • Nah be full of cyclist and rollerbladers...imagine what the calling out thread would be like.

  • Slowest commute this year!!! Think I found all the buses, and what is it with people crossing on Red Ped lights and then shouting.

  • Because they're allow to.

  • Fair point

  • Lol!

On my commute home in the rain yesterday, stopped at a crossing light, next to 4x4 with quite small driver... Her size may have explained why she started driving while the light was red and an equally small lady was pushing a push chair right in front of the car!

Scared the shit out of me, luckily had time to shout "Red!" Loudly enough to make her slam on the brakes (and stall the car)!

Frightening how close I came to witnessing something horrible! (She wasn't going that fast, but I'm it wouldn't have been good for the pushchair rider!)

  • Lashing rain last night + feeling a dodge throat/chest coming on this morning + starting at the same time as the Mrs = got the train.

Utterly exhausted this evening. Conked out on the living room floor for about half an hour. How can not cycling 9 miles make more tired than when I do?

  • I don't think there is anything more satisfying than seeing Loughborough Road choked up in both directions because of the 'geniuses' who can't wait a few seconds. It was an absolute shitstorm this evening, best I've seen - could only laugh and shake my head.

  • I find commuting on public transport much more tiring than cycling in...

  • Unless the UK have jaywalking law that is.

  • so cold.

  • Left at 6 this m

  • Left at 6 this morning. Lovely quiet roads. Will be doing that again.

  • I think people heard a forecast of snow for this morning. All manner of cycle based snow ploughs out and about.

Saw a man down last night at the Shell garage near Clapham South. Didn't look good when I went past. Hope he is ok.

  • Fingerless gloves - schoolboy error made whilst still only 70% conscious. Noticeably warmer in the city - for once the winds are not bellowing between the towers. New freewheel hub fitted which makes my otherwise swishy silent steed sound like a 2-stroke. Tad embarrassing on the roll-in to reds.

  • Lovely ride in this morning, a bit cold to start with due to wet gloves but general relief that there was no snow/ice made up for that. Actually encountered another cyclist going the same way as me today too, looked as if he was out training, but had his bike lit up like a disco; spoke lights, the lot. He provided a handy tow for the last 2 miles though
    9/10

  • Fingertips got cold this morning even with my 'winter' gloves on. Nice crisp feel though, would have been improved if it was a little brighter and some twit on a black planet x geared bike didn't try to force me out into the next lane of traffic.

Last night was quite pleasant too- made it about halfway before the rain came down, didn't change clothing and was pretty refreshed by the rain by the time I got home.

  • Body too hot, hands too cold. By the end of winter I may actually have learned correct layering choice. Just in time to forget it all again before next winter. Beautiful day.

  • Crisp air and beautiful weak winter sun, well behaved fellow road users and general lack of aggression. Looking forward to more of the same on the way home. 180!

  • Rounded a corner on my normal commute through Angel to see about 30 spectators whooping and cheering surprised cyclists. Complete with an 'allez allez' double bed sheet.

Ride in felt a bit warmer after that. 8/10.

  • Almost ran over a dog, otherwise not much of note. 6/10

  • Came here to say the same. Very nice wake-up and the cowbells were a lovely touch. Don't envy the guy in the black morph suit. Guerrilla marketing?
