  • Changing saddles...

  • That pretty much sums it up.

  • This build looks great. Looking forward to seeing it progress. Do you still have the Pearson?

  • Here are some shots of the groupset that came off the Colnago. Not sure yet if the Cinelli RAM bars will look nice on the frame. Otherwise I am very happy with the groupset.

    @7VEN: I don't have the Pearson anymore.

  • First of all, happy new year every one!

What better way to start off 2015 with some updated pics of my future Kajak Custom frame!

The seat and chain stay bridges are in place and so is the additional tube. The fork is also nearing completion. All that remains now are the cable guides and the FD-mount.

  • is there room enough for mounting the brake without fouling the seat tube?

  • You mean for the cable housing to go through? or the pivot arm?

Does look like it be fine.

  • Or possibly to get at the brake-mounting allen nut without the angle of the allen key hitting the frame?

  • Previous page shows this image, fits perfect...

  • As Reinier89 showed, a brake should fit just fine. The brake that was used for the mockup does have a slightly offset pivot arm, unlike the Record brake, so I am not sure yet if the Record brakes will fit.

The angle of the seat stay bridge is not very different from the seat tube, so I am guessing (hoping) that I will be able to tighten the bolt with my Park Tool balldriver hex wrench, which can tighten stuff in angles.

  • Kamil just sent me some pictures of the final touches to the frameset: the cable guides, FD-mount and last but not least the fork.

I couldn't be more happy about the way the fork turned out. I am not really thrilled about the external cable guides, but Kamil insisted on doing it external so as not to compromise the strength of the main tube.

    Delivery is scheduled for Sunday...

  • I see what you mean about the forks!

  • Fetch the tissues, those forks are gorgeous.

  • Here are some quick shots of the finished frameset. It looks absolutely amazing in real life and I can't wait ride it. All that remains now is to decide what to do with the paint.

  • Those forks..

  • keep it raw!!

  • what did you have in mind regarding the paint?

  • Not sure what I would like to do with the paint just yet. A single color metallic paint job would make for stylish look of sure. I might go for something wilder as well.

  • Sick Fades® pls

  • Insane frame defo needs some insane paint :)

  • Exactly. Gotta have cray cray fades. Any colours that you wanna include.

  • Or something involving graphics as well, like this Gianni Bugno's era Moser

  • Just finished fitting most of the parts to the frame that I had lined up. Aside from the rear brake everything fits nicely.

  • Oh no.
    :(
    The rest looks really good!

  • I am quite happy with the look of the bike too. The only thing that looks of to me is the Cinelli RAM. Although it's probably the most comfortable handlebar in the planet, I am thinking of going for something more traditional for this build.
