  • Oh, and why not make a cheap jersey as well as a nice jersey? Because doing so wouldn't fund the club at all, and wouldn't make a quality jersey viable. And if we make funding the club compulsory to buy a jersey, then you would still have to pay around £65... but this way we can offer club access for free (and as tester rightly says this makes the club more accessible as you can participate in events without having to have club kit), and also ensure we have a quality jersey that people choose to wear because it's a damn good jersey.

  • And just to go right back to the beginning of the thread...

Anyone can get one of these Jerseys? We don't have to wear them? It's all just a nice thing?

  • Yes.

But if you're not a club member and you buy one, then the club thanks you... as you are contributing to the club finances.

The club is very informal, you can go and put LFGSS CC down on British Cycling if you wish, or join BC using a club discount and get all of the other member benefits. But because the club is so informal, it doesn't matter if you're not a BC member, you can still be part of the club per se as the club is independent of BC and just affiliated to it (along with Cycling Time Trials).

So you can buy a jersey, call yourself a club member, and yet not be a BC member or CTT racer, etc... just a person who wants to show support for the club and own a nice jersey.
