From the tech doc it looks like the seal rings are removable.
Anyhoo personally I'd try cleaning the internals with spray in cleaner until they wiped clean, then wipe dry, leave to dry, then re-pack with grease with a syringe + Phils. I'd suggest brake cleaner but I don't know if that would affect the seals which I assume are some kind of plastic / rubber?

Thanks Howard - I did download the PDF and thought it would be a case of twisting them free as they are a thin rubber - but no luck.
Will do as you suggested, apart from the phils - I only have a tube of syn-lube. Maybe I'll stop via the LBS later then.
My front hub (HB-6800 - Ultegra) was feeling a little dry - weird as it's only done about 1000 miles from new. I have opened it up to discover 2 things. It seems the was assembled at the factory with the bare minimum grease and the grease that was there looks more like light oil?? No probs, I'll clean and re-grease.
Only issue is that the bearing seals seem to be fixed in place and I can't see a way of removing them without destroying them and the balls are in cages so I cant use a magnet to pull them out one by one.
Any tips? or should I just fill the hub with grease (everything is clean) and not worry about removing the balls for a thorough clean?
cheers!
