Depending on whether the club funding is a fixed amount per jersey or a fixed proportion of jersey sales, the price needs to be set at either the quantity maximising level or the revenue maximising level of the PED curve :-)
This is obviously complicated by the fact that you need to look at different curves for each distinguishable product quality.
