  • Anyone dealt with Lezyne Warranty? Front light is rapidly dying and the rear seems to be following suit. Lights are shielded under seat and front bag with mudguards too, so not sure what the deal is. Not impressed.

  • Lezyne customer services seem to be in the US, when I tried dealing with them they took over a month to reply with "speak to the retailer you purchased it from" which I had already done (wiggle) and they had provided me with a new one.

  • Damn. I bought mine from some 'business' seller on eBay and now they're no longer active. Seems like I've been shafted with this. Gonna try see if I can source some new batteries for them.

  • This may have been asked before but I had some cateye 500's and my front light's lever (pressed to release the light from its rail) has snapped.
Has anyone had this problem and can I do anything to fix it?

  • Anyone with the eBay cree lights that come under the name Solarstorm amongst others done anything to improve the mount? Mine just goes mental in the wet and slips round so its either pointing at drivers eyes or straight down at the floor whenever I go over a bump.

    This one,

  • I put a piece of cut innertube round the bars things grip well enough. Maybe give that a try.

  • @M_V use the other size elastic, it should be really tight bordering on hard to put on. I find the large one is good on 31.8 and the small one on 25.4(?)

  • I was using the smallest elastic thing, still slips in the wet.

I did find that a bit of bar tape around the handlebar improved things but it's a messy bodge, especially when the light is not mounted.

I've found a few threads on other forums about people using the Hope handlebar mounts for them so going to give that a shot as they are only like £8 from crc etc and it should work well with my need to transfer the light between bikes, it'll also remove the issue of my constantly losing the rubber ring thing as it's not permanently attached to the mount.

  • @M_V I just had a look and noticed it's just over the edge/end of the cotton bar tape I use. It's good to know another mount that fits for when I sort out the front rack/light/battery/bag/stuff.

  • Would probably work with the Exposure QR mount and 'cleat' available for the larger lights too but they're more expensive.

  • Have you tried hanging it upside down?
(I have some cloth tape undermine I think that gives it extra friction)

  • Plus 1 x £8 Hope QR mount works on all 8 of my bikes, Exposure mounts are about £20 a pop and bolt on so would cost me £160 to do same job.

  • Yeah that helped but on 2 of the bikes I use it on most frequently it's impssible because it gets mounted on a piece of cut off handlebar attached to the front of a Wald basket.

Tbh I just found the mount with the rubber rings to be less than ideal and if I can maybe fix it for £8 I'll be very happy to do so.

  • Has anyone had issues with the cateye 500 front light release lever snapping?

  • Which 500? That number refers to various models. I have a HL-EL500 somewhere with damage to the slide rail but an intact release lever. If I can find it, we may have one good light between us.

  • Oh wait, its a 300 sorry.

Its this model, it they do multiple 300 models.

  • Yeah it's the weight, those rubber rings are great for light lights... Mine didn't really suffer the same problem as it came fatally unscrewed from it's mount on it's first ride out :-/

  • If you want to try and see, I have a half-broken Hope mount you can have. It's still usable, but I wouldn't trust it on an expensive light - should be good enough to test the theory at least.

  • Thanks but I've ordered one from CRC already. It's only £8 eh?

Out of interest, how did yours break? So I know what to look out for.

    Cheers.

  • I crashed with a car and one of the prongs which the cam compresses against snapped off.

  • A huge improvement over the standard rubber band mount.

  • you rate the light?
how big is the battery pack?

  • Definitely.

The battery pack is made up of 4 x AA sized cells. Can't remember the capacity etc from when I bought it but lasts a good wee while and spare are available super cheap.

The wiring came unattached from the battery pack but it was an easy job to resolder it and was probably more to do me mistreating it than any manufacturing deficiency.
Just survived numerous thorough drenchings too.

  • how long do you get out of it (5000 lumens)? i assume one mode?
    xxxx
