  • There some explanation necessary behind this?

  • @dan the people have spoken! lemme see the frame!

  • @eyebrows It's more $$ but I'm going to get one of these if/when I get a pomp... I prefer the look of the strait bladed forks and all the strait ones on Ali express seem to have tapered steerer. Also it has mudguard eyes which is a bonus.

  • Hey all,

Do you think a LBS can order in a pompino frame for cheaper than website price? Any discount for buying stock as a distributer than a consumer?

  • You can try, but I very much doubt it.

They basically are cheap because they have small margins and sell direct.

  • Awesome, looks great. Where is that?

  • Alright then, thanks. Let's hope someone crops up on here with a medium

  • Dunno why they are £200 now I got my one for £120 a few months ago. Wait for a sale imo.

  • Thank you. It's in the Amsterdam forest on a small hill called 'de heuvel'

  • So they can sell them at a heavily reduced rate later on.

  • I've sent you pictures of mine? Its completely mint, back from the paint shop.

  • Didn't realise they were off sale... They'll be back down to circa £120 for ten months of the year soon.

  • Check out their site
they were knocking some out for £99 yesterday not sure what sizes they had left at this price
    or
check out ebay there's a large full bike finishing today in around 7 hours blue I think it's in telford it's up to just over £ 100 also Another in Manchester again finishing today about 5 hours later but again currently at about the same price

  • I'm hoping they'll have something to replace the discontinued Pompetamine coming out this year, anyone know anything about that? SS, Disc's, full mudguards and a light 29er wheelset for my commute would be the perfect set up.

  • random question all, but one of the 15mm nuts that came with my built pompino has been burred. LBS replaced it with a normal flanged one. I want to go back to the one that it came with, which had this weird floating flange. I hope that makes sense... question is, where do I get them from? Cheers.

  • Google "track nuts".

  • Thanks. And the thread size? Is it 3/8?

  • Anyone know what the 'normal' price for an Inbred is? They are at £199 just now but I thought they were more like £100-120?

  • Not sure but I thought track nuts were all the same. You can get front (14mm) and rear (15mm) though. The 14 and 15mm refers to the spanner size but the actual thread size is also different.

  • Forks came of a Leopard JPX. Joachim Parbos pro bike.

Basicly unobtainable like that, but I guess it's actually an open mold china fork. So maybe you kan find similar on the web.

  • Hi all. I just ordered a pompino 2014 frame set and I have a set of berthoud fender lying around which I like to install on it.

I am curious of the underside of the fork as I am thinking about how to install the front fender. Does anyone have any experience?

Currently thinking of using a compression plug installed at the underside of the fork. Then bolt through the fender and the compression plug. Would this work? Biggest issue is whether the compression plug would fit at all but I assume the pompino fork steering column is through so this may work?

    Thanks!

  • My guards had a L-shaped bracket which bolts through the front (caliper) brake hole.

Your method sounds a bit more complex but could work, if I understand it properly.

  • Used to be in that ballpark, yeah.
