  • I have a question for the Brompton thread:

I currently have a pretty old Brompton. It was an original 5 speed. Since I have changed a few bits.
New style front caliper, ti clamps, new saddle + tyres. I have had the bushings serviced. The big change is I single speeded it which dropped a lot of weight.

My question is, if I sell it and get a new (or nearly new one) will I notice much difference? Has the frame lost any weight? I know the brake levers are different and they have a locking rear triangle, but are the new ones the same as mine but with some tiny changes or would it be noticably lighter/ better?

  • The newer one have some new feature that you can upgrade to (i.e. the triangle clip to prevent wheel from folding when picking it up), the main difference is the longer main tube due to the new hinge.
