How did you find the move to single speed? I also have a very old 5 speed (not to mention your old rear wheel, thank you very much)
For my part, I always dread having to ditch my big bike and ride the Brompton and then utterly love riding it. I should upgrade the brakes though, they are dreadful on mine.
I have a question for the Brompton thread:
I currently have a pretty old Brompton. It was an original 5 speed. Since I have changed a few bits.
New style front caliper, ti clamps, new saddle + tyres. I have had the bushings serviced. The big change is I single speeded it which dropped a lot of weight.
My question is, if I sell it and get a new (or nearly new one) will I notice much difference? Has the frame lost any weight? I know the brake levers are different and they have a locking rear triangle, but are the new ones the same as mine but with some tiny changes or would it be noticably lighter/ better?
