The newest (Ultra new?) ones are pretty good, I've got/had a few and they've been excellent. The older ones with the angular contact bearings were a bit shit unless you knew what you were doing and the bearings weren't always easy to come by.

What's the general consensus on Surly hubs? I've heard a few stories about them not being the best quality.
