Inferior battery but possibly better mapping.
Dynamo/battery pack either way.
Edit: And it's only a theoretical 2h less from 17 to 15. So not really much.

I'm sure it has improved but the battery fail is enough to put me off. Also they changed the connectors to microusb so my external batteries would need another adapter to power them. Annoying.
What's better about the mapping? Bigger screen would be good. But as with everything bigger = more power use, higher cost.

The 800 never lasted claimed anyway so don't believe the claims on the 1000.

1000 has inferior battery life to 800 and 810 - how are you getting around that?
