No longer have space for this, so looking to move it on.

Vintage Eddie Merckx, superb condition, couple of paint chips but nothing too bad
Campag front & rear mech
Campag headset
Campag crankset
Campag brakes
56cm frame

You'd probably want to change the pedals, but other than that its perfect. Spoke to a trader who reckons its worth in the ball park of £900 but would take offers around £780 / £800 that for a quick sale and to keep the missus off my case.

Available for pick up in Hackney.

most definitely aluminium with campagnolo mirage . who said its worth £900 ? they are wrong . if it was steel and had record or chorus it maybe worth more but sorry to say its not worth what you are asking .....

hmm... not near 700 imo.
from about half that up to half what they reckoned as a whole bike...

was it sold to you with an appraisal?

I have to agree with gios78 its got a lot of corrosion on parts and its not steel I just recently bought a corsa extra Columbus slx for £650 with full da 7400 in mint condition the markets not there now ,its a lovely colour and frames good condition but youll be lucky to get £500 I would strip it down clean all the parts and take some good photos stick on the bay glws

Nice biek for £400 I'd say. Bit of spit and polish, black tape and gumwall tyres and you're in the rad crew.

Cheers guys, it really is a lovely bike, great stiff ride, smooth groupset for someone wanting an entry level bike with character (i.e. not a Specialized) still around if anyone wants it for a straight £400.

I'm sorry to say but the day Merckx started producing Aluminum frames, the character bleeded out of his frames. He tried to build them "handmade" in his factory (in his backyard) but soon had to admit bike-building wasn't like in the old days any more and got into business with the Chinese.

But there's probably a market for this kind of bikes. ;-)
