  • Yeah! Old school list time!

All 20 places filled and as per up thread anyone currently on the list has signed to a fiver for costs whether they can ride or not unless they are replaced.

    Backup:

    1. Markypoos (+2?)
  • So what time are we meeting? I think (hope) the in-built calendar has gone a little screwy.

  • Weathers not looking too bad at the mo. Fingers crossed for a clear night!

  • I'm going to have to pull out, sprained my wrist and it's to painful to cycle on. Gutted.

  • 2pm is correct, meant to finish after dark!

  • It says 6 am for me! 2pm was what I was expecting.

  • You in for taking the spare place?

  • hah, I'll update the first post

  • Hmm - this is weird. I corrected the time on my computer as I thought that was what was throwing it - now all the threads from a minute ago read as 8 hours ago ... and the time initially shows as correct, but flips over to 6am. Odd.

  • I was in but the Mrs has had surgery today so I will be looking after my daughter for the week. Will be very interested if you do it again though!

  • A Venutian day is longer than a Venutian year.

  • Stick that in your fact pipe... and smoke some fact.

    Looking forward to this hugely.

  • Super stoked about this. I'm at track til 1 so I'll catch up with you in Burgess Park as you roll through.

  • Hope you have good weather for this - you might even have a chance to look at this chap, Comet Lovejoy, currently passing within 45 million miles of us on an orbit that should bring him back in another 8,000 years or so. I watched last night as this green blob crept northwards through the faint stars of Eridanus, to the right of Orion, with its motion quite obvious over the course of less than half an hour. This was shot from my Forest Hill back garden last night with an 85mm lens.

  • @hairnetnic last time I did this ride we went past my house, don't know if you remember my little girl coming out to wave us on?

If the route is the same and goes down Shakespeare road then I will just tag along there. Any changes?

  • I saw a faint green smudge from Kings X using my finder scope, will have another look tonight if it clears.

  • Hallo @mashton, Shakespeare road is indeed on the route. Were you planning on coming up to the observatory? If so please click attending so I can keep a track of numbers.

If you pm your number I'll let you know when we're close.

  • I thought he already had, way back. checks He did, 28th Nov.

  • oh yeah, I knew that.

  • Nice Nic - can you squeeze me in? Can I come on the ride too? Phnaar phnaar.
    Nice Mel.

  • I'm in!

  • Excellent, welcome Mel.

  • Unfortunately I have to drop out, knee has been painful every day this week.

  • Soz can't remember: do we need locks?

  • Yep still coming to the Observatory. No need to call me, I'll just keep an eye out at about 3pm. But, just in case I am 07773 763809.
