Did quite a few hours in sub zero over a few days just before the new year. I found a good combination to be my spesh element 1.5 under and the outer of my fox anti freeze.
However after grimmly clinging on for about 4 hours in -2.5 my finger tips started to get cold, so my g/f recommended me an excellent tip; play the song on your head with an imaginary piano, tapping your finger tips on the bars. I really helped to bring the warmth back.
When cold, I've been recommended clenching and unclenching your hands rapidly, apparently it gets the blood and muscles working. Works well if you you're pootling along on the tops.
