With regard to bridgestone degrading quickly... Its appears to have a wet coat (not powder coat). Wet coats chip very very easily. I get a new scratch or two every day on my Waterford.

The top paint it shite. it does have does have to layers of paint and a zinc coating on the bare metal though so it's not too bad

Sold on twice since and looking more ratty than ever with the new owner, I do believe - looked like this when I sold it...

risers look better on this. rat bikes are so fun to have arent they? you dont worry about chipping paint, denting the frame or anything.
