Instagram in a funny way rekindle my love of photography again, the fact it's quite a simple social media application mean I can just snap and upload, no worried about RAW, white balance, crop factor, getting the film processed at the right place that look after its machine etc. just quick edit on phone and upload.
The best photos you take I find is usually the one you never think about.

I found the pentax 645 to be a really nice intro to medium format.
It wasn't too expensive compared to a lot of cameras you could go for, it was pretty simple to operate and it I really like the results

Ha I bought one of those for a tenner, definitely agree with Ed. They've
Got their quirks but if you're persistent you can still create great images with them.I've still not sold my gw690 and I'm not currently using it so if you want a taste for MF you can shoot a couple of rolls through it if you like? It's just taking up space here as it is.

Thanks for the heads up :)

And appreciate that man, I'm not in London at the moment but in a few weeks I might have to drop you a PM!

I shot MF (RZ67 II) for a couple of years, but found that although the image quality was impeccable, for anything not on a tripod/in a studio (which is nearly everything I shoot) it was so heavy and cumbersome that I'd always leave it at home instead of shoot it. And i really prefer the candid style shots, which are impossible when you have that tank between you and the subject.
So i bought a little Pentax Spotmatic with an 1.4 equally Japanese 50mm lens. I never thought it would hold up as well as it has! I would highly recommend anyone who wants a little 35mm camera to get out, load some film and start shooting. Here are some shots. Film stock is Portra 400,800 and Ilford Xp2 400 (6x7's are Mamiya) Peace.

Developed a roll of Fujifilm Superia 400 in ASDA today, Dev+Scan for £3?? Although despite the awesome price I feel the scan quality isn't great compared to the two places I've used previously (Metro and a local family one in Dunstable)
Anyway, remember this?
Went out for about half hour, took a couple of shots and whilst setting up the camera for one a pair of very angry dogs (staff and germen shepherd type one) ran over a little dirt mound to my right and headed straight for me.
Also learnt the hard way that I need some separate light meter when shooting in low light.Well this was the result

Also the cable shutter release I bought for my SP 500 doesn't seem to work/fit/maybe i've set it up wrong -.-
Turns out my Pentax SP 500 is slightly broken, cable shutter releases don't work. Might have to have a fiddle in the future.
The rest of the roll is spread over Luton, London and Harlow so here's one from each.

Nice! The shot of the sofa was worth the scary dogs.
The last one is cool - love those Fuji greens. Now to load-up my spotmatic with some portra...

Now to load-up my spotmatic with some portra...
Still have yet to try some!
160 or 400 though? -
• #9362
Either is great. 400 is more versatile but 160 is just that bit smoother.

True to form I've left everything to the last minute to acquire camera bits before going away. sigh Does anyone have any 43mm filters knocking around? UV or skylight would be perfect. Wouldn't say no to a yellow or orange filter for B&W either if available.

I self processed some black and white film the other day, but used a broken film tank, so some were a bit cloudy.
Is this perhaps due to chemical residue or light leaks? -
• #9368
Nice shots, what resort was that first one? When I went we had loads of snow for a ocuple of days.
Would you like a new tank? I recently bought an enlarger that came with a couple but I already have one that I like.
For free obvs.

It was chatel near avoriaz, left just as it started to snow properly :( yeah, sounds great. Plastic or metal tanks?

So yeah my newly aquired Nikon EM in pristine condition apparently leaks light. FML.
Also I scanned my first roll of CineStill 50D and immediately ordered two more.
Thing is though (this will be apparent in the next posts) I sort-of forgot that it's also cross-processed.
So the "rules" of cross processed film do apply (although there are no weird colour shifts like when cross-processing slide film), like: contrast goes up like shit with hard, powerful light - and on the other hand if the light is very smooth you will not get nice, subtle tones, but just dull colours. -

Just seen this, plastic Paterson tank with plastic reels.
I made it down to Chatel, did that DH jump under the chairlift over the stream. Rad area.

It's a bit messy, I like to keep it simple with instagram.
