I may just do that, was going to go with the hope trials hubs but they're a bit more than I want to spend.

Any recommendations for (or warnings about) places doing emergency dental treatment in London (pref North)? I'm on my way back to the UK by train rather than plane courtesy of a whopping gum abscess which needs draining so my face can return to something approaching its normal shape. At the moment the right hand side of my face resembles the bastard offspring of Henry the Happy Hamster and the Elephant Man.

Any recommendations for cheapish prescription cycling glasses? I normally wear contacts so not looking to spend a great deal but something with better peripheral vision than normal glasses would be nice.
Mainly for commuting inc. winter so clear or photochromic lens I guess.

My brother was quite a fan of Rudy Project's inserts.

I need to get my vinyl shipped over to Australia, I'm looking for double walled boxes that I can stuff with my precious LPs and 45s... Any ideas out there?
Edit: Forget it, I'm sorted...

I'm wearing Optilabs Swift. Most of their range costs about £170 for single vision lenses. Is that cheapish? Until recently I just made do with normal sunglasses off the 2 for 1 offers when I got a new pair of specs. Beware the low sun glaring off the road - I nearly always go out in sunglasses in the winter, never clear lens.

Cheers. I was hoping for cheaper but will have to look at how much these things cost. How do you find the inserts? From some things I've read they don't provide as full vision as the actual lens being made up with your prescription.
A large part of winter riding is in the dark so sunglasses aren't great for that.

I use disposable contacts whenver I ride the bike with few ride exceptions; I have no issues with peripheral vision ..

Regards pads...
I put SS greens on the summer bike. They're really great braking from high speed in the wet or dry. Perfect for mountains (no fade). To me they can feel a bit wooden (when cold, for the first few grabs).
Salmon's go on the front on the winter bike. They have nice bite at lower temps/speeds. (Standard shimano on the rear because I always seem to have some to use up).

I'm fine riding with contacts. It's when I can't wear my contacts and am wearing my glasses that I have issues.

Where can I borrow a Selle Italia SLR with a cut out to test in London? Condor don't have one.

early '90s lo pro/TT-suitable bullhorns, that can be easily and cheaply (sub-£50) be acquired right now. Haven't got a stem yet so any clamp size is feasible. Cinelli tempos from Hilary Stone:
What else? -
• #65570
Yes. They're OK. Not significantly better than Swissstop yellows and about on a par with Swissstop Black Prince pads but the Zipps wear faster.

What else?
Cinelli LA84 is the best, but a 66 or similar road bar chopped and flopped is also period correct and much easier to find.
-
• #65572
Do they have to be period correct? I have some soma el toros I should get rid of. Also nitto do one.
-
• #65573
Thanks Dan, I'll go for the Swissstops then.

Atac alliums out of stock everywhere. Temporary or permanent situation? What's a good alternative?

ish. building up an early 90's lo pro. no aero bars, bullhorns with shimano 600 brake levers on, shifters on the dt. sort of like this but a little less rad/antipodean. want something that looks 'right' and preferably has quite a lot of reach because the frame might be a little on the short side. the el toros might do the job; I had a look through the range of nitto's because I've compromised my other recent period build with some but couldn't find anything that would look nice with old-style levers instead of modern bar end levers. I'll do a search for some of tester's recommendations and then get back to you :)
FH-M785-S 36H <£40 shipped from Germany. If you have £100 to spend, you could tear it apart and get it anodised pink :-)
