I appreciate the concern but they're fine in real life. I've had the frame for around 6 years now and never had any kind of head on collision, I'm going to put this down to my inability to take decent photos of bikes.

Lovely! Is that the new project that's replaced the #pathracer we were trying to get sort out?
Is it an early Carlton Flyer or their brilliantly named 'Super Python'?

Is it not designed for riding on the road? :P

More like I love to have something more personal design to suit me and more importantly looks fast than something that looks lightweight

It is! Found it (relatively) locally and picked it up today: 1965 (?) Flyer.
The chrome is mostly shot, but the headset, bottom bracket and set pin aren't seized (metric tools vs imperial components hoo-haa aside).
I'd forgotten how much I missed the pit-pit-pat of loose ball bearings cascading onto the floor...

Thats a beauty matey, the ratty chrome is lovely especially with the Capella lugs and Chater-Lea track ends. Does it have the twin fork crown too?
I think I remember reading somewhere that 'E' marked Carltons were 54-55, but I have no idea why that info is in my head...
Has these been oiled and wrapped for a while, it looks like it from the photos and is the drive side mudguard eyelet split?
I had to fight the dog last time I dropped a BB's worth of bearings on the floor, the little sod tried to eat them. Also despite my aim to shift bikes recently I just added a chrome bike to my Elsegood collection...waiting on delivery atm.

Recent(ish) ebay purchase. I guess it's a fair few years old but in great condition and has a cool flouro fade paint-job. It's seen here with new stem, pedals and tyres. Rides great and is really light esp for a frame of this age. I've got some Flo30's waiting to go on and might upgrade the group later in the year.
Those forks look like they've had a head on crash?
