Feels sort of fugly to me..

Not sure why exactly.. but one thing I hate for sure is searchbar bang slap at the top.

Firstly because I don't want to ever 'search' for anything.. I want to 'find' shit yes but searching is a ballache and being reminded of this fact reminds of websites in the 1990s before they cleaned up.

I've said before content isnt king its engagement but even if you disagree.. you are Not google... your search functionality will be shit, at least lower this likely hood of being tested and proven.

In short.. make the search a neat little box quietly put to one side.

Yeah, the search bar is something I'm not totally happy with.

The search function on the other hand... very happy with that. Try it.

The search bar is the least wrong thing on that screengrab.*

While I agree it could look better, it's a fairly common UI feature. Look at gmail or facebook.

Also, the search function is there to be used. I've found search basically unusable on most forums I've used. Microcosm's search is already good, and only going to get better.

Don't worry about formatting, just type in the text and we'll take care of making sense of it. We will auto-convert links, and if you put asterisks around words we will make them bold.

Tips:

To *italicise* text put one asterisk each side of the word
