They're not WH-7700s, they are both nice sets of wheels.
I am not dissing 7700 cranks, they're not bad at all. I think we've got our wires crossed

I think it's fair to separate Shimano's groupsets from their wheels for aesthetic purposes. The 7700 groupset is pretty uncontroversial, the paired-spoke wheels are obviously more divisive.

agreed, not sure if wh-7700 were ever team spec, 7700 hubs built up with other rims methinks
