I'm not going to speculate, but Muddy Hell was very definitely a Rollapaluza venture, with both Caspar and Paul playing key roles (as did others).
The cost of putting on the event is high as it requires lighting and generators, the building of the bridge, the hire of the marquee etc, and the revenue made from entry fees and sales of food and alcohol doesn't come anywhere close to covering the costs. So it needs a sponsor and, for the past two years, that sponsor hasn't been forthcoming.

I got the impression that muddy hell is basically one person in particular's baby and if he, for whatever reason, can't or won't organise it then it ain't gonna happen. The knowledge gap etc being too great.
100% hearsay tho.
